Call for proposals - BIOFIN Marketplace

Sep 1, 2016

Following the completion of Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) Project’s first phase, where a proposed financing plan to identify sources of funding for the full implementation of the Philippine Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (PBSAP) from 2015 to 2028 was developed and to address the huge gap on biodiversity financing, the project is now on its second phase where the finance solutions will be implemented.

The BIOFIN Project works to catalyze private sector participation and innovative partnerships to increase investments for biodiversity. In collaboration with the Biodiversity Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the Philippine Business for the Environment, TeaM Energy, and the Philippine Tropical Forest Conservation Foundation, a Marketplace activity will be held on November 25, 2016 to showcase innovative biodiversity projects/ initiatives that have the potential to scale and can deliver social, environmental, and economic performance. Furthermore, the marketplace is expected to stimulate funding, insights, resources, and conversations to address the challenges on biodiversity, thus, contributing to achieve the targets of Sustainable Development Goals 14 and 15 (Life on water; Life on land).

Recognizing the private sector's contribution and critical role in achieving the PBSAP 2015-2028 targets, UNDP's BIOFIN Project is inviting private sector partners to the BIOFIN Marketplace as a proponent, donor/investor, sponsor, mentor and/or other partners. The call for proposals may be accessed through this  link: . A website will soon be available for more information on the Marketplace and through the following social media accounts:
