What Have We Accomplished
- Partnering with UNDP, the Department of Education (DepEd) plans to deliver information technology (IT) equipment to more than 5,000 public senior high schools throughout the country, including 4,000 schools with no access to power. As of November 2016, IT equipment have been delivered to 184 senior high schools. Former DepEd Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro called it “the fastest procurement of information technology packages in a government agency."
- In order to track and validate the delivery of equipment to local schools, UNDP has implemented a third-party monitoring (TPM) system in six regions have been engaged.
- The TPM volunteers are monitoring actual deliveries and installation in 332 schools by using mobile devices to capture photos and monitoring data, which are uploaded to the cloud for consolidation. Aside from delivery information, TPM volunteers also report on/assess a) school readiness, b) school profile, c) conduct of installation, and d) conduct of client/beneficiary satisfaction survey.
